Job summary

Community Services Group is seeking Direct Support Professionals to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in residential or community settings. The DSP helps with daily living skills, independence, and community integration, reporting to the Program Supervisor.

The DSP in residential settings supports living a self-directed life and maintaining dignity. This position is part of our Adult ASD and IDD services.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record, and access to a reliable vehicle to attend trainings, meetings, and transport individuals to appointments.
• Administers medication and treatment as permitted under regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships to promote wellbeing and independence.
• Assist with activities of daily living and life skills.
• Support individuals’ preferences and interests.
• Promote community integration and independence through community resources.
• Support individuals to reach goals and provide guidance and role modeling.
• Complete documentation accurately and timely in electronic health records.
• Collaborate with family, agencies, and service providers; participate in meetings.
• Assist with arranging medical care and following healthcare recommendations.
• Conduct fire drills and manage emergencies during shifts.
