Job summary

Careersource-Tampa-Bay is seeking a Career Coach to support individuals in achieving sustainable employment through career planning, job placement, and training guidance across multiple programs. The role emphasizes personalized coaching, case management, and ensuring program compliance to help customers overcome barriers and reach workforce goals.

The position focuses on the designated program while contributing to special projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum one year in career counseling, social services, or job placement.
• Florida Workforce Professional Certification Tier I required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Valid Florida driver’s license.
• Knowledge of workforce programs, employment laws, and community resources.
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate services to customers including the development, implementation and tracking of Career Plans, ITAs, assessments, budgets and progress tracking.
• Ensure the applicant understands parameters of the program offered.
• Develop an individualized career goal-oriented plan to achieve stable, unsubsidized employment.
• Address customer needs and barriers, develop resolution plans and set outcome dates.
• Coordinate customer participation in program activities and provide clear guidance of program expectations.
• Develop Individualized Training Accounts and financial plans as needed.
• Assess customer strengths and needs and document suitability.
• Determine funding eligibility (PELL, student loans, scholarships).
• Provide progress checks and modify plans to achieve objectives.
• Input data and update progress in program tracking system.
• Collaborate with Business Services for job placement and walk-ins.
• Possibly attend outreach events and serve as initial contact for walk-ins.
• Conduct orientations and workshops for customers.
• Maintain and submit required reports.
