Job summary

Qualifications

• Previous billing or accounts receivable experience required.
• Experience with non-medical billing, such as client billing, private-pay services, general invoicing, or program-based billing, is highly preferred
• Nonprofit, human services, or DDS program experience is a plus
• Comfortable working with Microsoft Excel; experience with pivot tables and VLOOKUPs is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to learn new systems and processes
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Flexible, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities
• Experience with billing software or financial systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process billing for program services and private-pay accounts
• Download, review, and manipulate monthly reports to prepare billing information
• Enter services provided and ensure billing records are accurate
• Update tuition, account, and billing information as needed
• Reconcile Excel spreadsheets and investigate discrepancies
• Contact families regarding overdue private-pay balances and assist with payment arrangements
• Monitor outstanding accounts and follow up on past-due balances
• Prepare billing reports and maintain organized financial documentation
• Work with internal staff to resolve billing questions and discrepancies
• Assist with addressing an existing billing backlog and other accounting projects as needed
