Job summary

Maxim Healthcare is seeking a Behavior Technician to provide one-on-one support to children and adults in home- or community-based settings. You will work with Board Certified Behavior Analysts to help clients build social and communication skills and follow individualized behavior-change plans.

Role emphasizes documenting progress, creating structured interactions, and collaborating with families to promote meaningful progress in independence and communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum passion for helping individuals with special needs and supporting independent living.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; further studies in psychology/education preferred.
• 18 years of age or older required; many roles require background checks and clearances.
• Experience with children or behavioral health settings is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one support to individuals in home- or community-based settings.
• Help clients build social and communication skills.
• Support families by addressing repetitive or restrictive behaviors.
• Follow behavior-change plans created by Board Certified Behavior Analysts.
• Collect and document progress, milestones, and session information accurately.
• Create encouraging, structured interactions during every session.
