Job summary

ProYouth’s after-school program seeks a Program Leader I to oversee daily operations at assigned Self-Help Enterprises centers. You supervise school-age youth, maintaining a safe, welcoming environment and facilitating academic support, enrichment, recreation, and youth development activities.

The role involves opening/closing centers, managing attendance, and representing ProYouth on-site while adhering to policies and safety requirements. Part-time, hourly work with multiple CA locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent AND 48 completed College Units OR NCLB Paraprofessional Certification.
• A minimum of two years’ experience working with youth is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support student mastery of new skills through project-based learning.
• Maintain a culture of safety and well-being with students in classroom and outdoor settings.
• Establish clear, consistent expectations for behavior and positive discipline.
• Ensure every student feels known, accepted, valued and respected.
• Build and maintain trust through effective communication.
• Model and promote ProYouth mission and values through appearance, words and actions.
• Collaborate with Site Director and staff to plan engaging, organized activities.
• Complete attendance records and required program documentation.
