Job summary

Volunteers of America Delaware Valley’s Camden Navigational Resource Center seeks an IMPACT Specialist to connect with people where they are, build trust, and deliver immediate care and essential services on the street.

In this hands-on role you’ll engage individuals experiencing homelessness, coordinate crisis support, and help clients access housing, transportation, and medical services, promoting dignity and long-term stability.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience working with homeless or behavioral health populations.
  • Compassion, strong communication skills, and the ability to problem-solve on the spot.
  • A valid driver’s license and ability to meet agency driving standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct street outreach and attend community events to engage with at‑risk individuals
  • Provide emergency support, referrals, and transportation assistance
  • Perform intake assessments and create individualized service plans
  • Mentor clients and assist with accessing basic needs and ongoing care
  • Maintain real‑time documentation and ensure continuous support
  • Facilitate group sessions and collaborate with community resources

In this hands‑on, street-level role, you’ll work alongside law enforcement to engage vulnerable individuals, build trust, and deliver immediate care and essential services in the community.

You’ll be part of a high‑impact team focused on outreach, crisis support, and resource navigation, all while promoting dignity, self‑determination, and long‑term stability for individuals experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, and substance use issues.

What You’ll Do
  • Conduct street outreach and attend community events to engage with at‑risk individuals
  • Provide emergency support, referrals, and transportation assistance
  • Perform intake assessments and create individualized service plans

What You Need
