Job summary

The American Heart Association in Pittsburgh, PA is hiring a Development Director to generate revenue for impact campaigns, recruit volunteers, and cultivate donors. The role blends in-office and remote work, with routine local travel and a base salary plus incentives up to 25% of base pay.

Expect to lead donor engagement, organize local cultivation events, and collaborate with internal staff to meet campaign goals. A 3-day in-office, 2-day remote hybrid schedule applies.

Qualifications

• 3 years of fundraising, sales, or related experience.
• University/College degree or equivalent experience.
• Ability to travel locally up to 75% and some overnight trips.
• Ability to lift/move large objects as needed.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Generate revenue by prospecting and securing peer-to-peer fundraising strategies to reach revenue goals.
• Achieve revenue goals by building and maintaining relationships with partners and donors.
• Recruit, engage, and recognize high-level volunteers for local fundraising campaigns.
• Identify and connect with key donors and volunteers and broaden the network.
• Cultivate donors to boost engagement and giving.
• Organize local donor cultivation events and lead logistics (digital and in-person).
• Build a pipeline of sponsors and donors to align with campaign goals.
• Develop and present proposals to secure revenue and volunteer engagement.
• Plan events in collaboration with internal and external partners.
