Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a part-time Program Support Assistant to help deliver youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility programs at 1331 Augusta Dr, Houston. You will work under the supervision of the Program Director to provide high-quality YMCA experiences.

Responsibilities include building member relationships, supporting events, staff training, and ensuring safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service, program delivery or related experience.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to communicate effectively with children and adults.
• Desire to work with children and families in a positive, patient manner.
• Ability to connect with people of diverse backgrounds.
• Minimum age of 21 years.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention trainings.

Responsibilities

• Develop member relationships and improve engagement within the program area.
• Participate in program events, meetings and staff trainings.
• Assist Program Director with staff certifications tracking and compliance.
• Plan and evaluate program delivery; create activity plans.
• Assist with interviewing, onboarding and training new staff.
• Support new program initiatives and marketing materials.
• Identify safety concerns and resolve with Program Director.
• Assist with staffing, supplies, and equipment needs.
• Respond to member inquiries and complaints promptly.
• Help with fundraising and CDLOD schedule.
• Other duties as assigned.
