Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a part-time team member to monitor play and support program delivery for youth sports, ensuring safety and alignment with YMCA core values.

Responsibilities include promoting core values, supervising children, communicating with parents, reporting issues, assisting in events, and maintaining a welcoming, professional presence; prior childcare experience is encouraged.

Qualifications

• At least 16 years of age.
• CPR; First Aid; AED within 30 days of hire.
• Must possess oral, auditory and written communication skills appropriate for interacting with both children and adults.
• Must have a keen desire to work with children and relate to them positively.
• Must possess basic knowledge of sports.
• Must have flexible schedule to work nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Promotes YMCA core values and character development in all activities.
• Treats children, parents and staff with dignity and respect.
• Interacts with participants and provides feedback during games.
• Oversees safety of players and ensures YMCA rules are followed.
• Prepares playing areas to ensure safety.
• Assists in program space housekeeping and communicates with parents.
• Reports problems or inappropriate behavior to the Director.
• Assists in annual campaigns and events.
• Attends staff meetings and trainings.
• Maintains a professional demeanor and appearance.
