Job summary

Volunteers of America Delaware Valley seeks an experienced Program Director 1 to oversee one of our housing and supportive service programs. Lead day-to-day operations, ensure program integrity, and coach staff to deliver high-quality services that support the stability and well-being of vulnerable individuals and families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a human services field.
• 5-7 years of relevant management experience in housing, social services, or community programs.
• Strong leadership, judgment, and team-building skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong organizational and planning abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day program operations and provide direct supervision to all program staff.
• Ensure compliance with agency policies, licensing standards, and contractual obligations.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and quality improvement strategies.
• Prepare and manage budgets, monitor expenditures, and optimize fiscal health.
• Oversee training, staff development, performance evaluations, and team support.
• Conduct regular staff and client meetings to maintain communication and cohesion.
• Monitor program quality through ongoing evaluation and reporting.
• Build positive relationships with funders, partners, and community organizations.
• Participate in external coalitions, committees, and collaborative planning groups.
• Support agency-wide outcome tracking, data collection, and research initiatives.
• Perform regular off-hour program visits and manage crisis or operational issues as needed.
