Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Washington is seeking a Philanthropy Operations Coordinator to provide essential administrative and operational support for fundraising campaigns, donor stewardship, branch engagement, and special events. You will help the Philanthropy Team build meaningful donor relationships and advance the Y's mission.

The role requires coordinating calendars, materials, and communications, maintaining data accuracy, and collaborating across branches.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1–3 years of administrative, coordination, fundraising, or customer service experience.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
• Experience maintaining databases, preparing reports, and handling confidential information.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Salesforce or donor CRM experience preferred.
• Ability to travel among YMCA locations across the DMV and occasionally work evenings or weekends for events.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate team operations: manage calendars, meetings, materials, and follow-up for the Chief Development Officer and Philanthropy Team.
• Support fundraising and donor engagement: campaigns, outreach lists, acknowledgements, and stewardship communications; assist with event logistics.
• Maintain data and reporting: donor and fundraising records in Salesforce or other tracking systems; prepare fundraising reports and donor lists; assist with gift processing and reconciliation.
• Collaborate across the Y: share resources, deadlines, and reporting tools with branch staff; coordinate donor communications and follow-up.
