Job summary

Goodwill is seeking an Accounting and Payroll Specialist in Adrian, MI to manage bi-weekly payroll for about 200 staff and handle core accounting duties. You will maintain timekeeping records, verify data accuracy, and respond to employee payroll questions while supporting compliance with W-2s and 1099s.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of payroll processing experience
• General bookkeeping experience
• Knowledge of payroll-related regulatory standards
• Basic accounting knowledge (balance sheet, P&L, COA)
• Excellent problem resolution with attention to detail
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Ability to work independently
• Physical ability to bend, stretch, lift to 20 pounds, and walk/stand as required
• Genuine interest in serving others and a positive attitude toward the community and colleagues

Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll for ~200 employees.
• Maintain automated time and attendance and payroll records.
• Verify data accuracy and source documents for timesheets.
• Address payroll questions confidentially.
• Assist with federal and state filing including W-2s and 1099s.
• Suggest process improvements to payroll.
• Process Accounts Payable.
• Process Accounts Receivable and monitor aging.
• Assist with other projects and duties as needed.
• Assist with external financial audits.
