Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Director of Finance and Accounting for a growing nonprofit. You will lead and manage all aspects of our financial and accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance while providing strategic insights to guide decisions.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with nonprofit experience, CPA certification, and proven ability to oversee cash flow, reporting, policies, and regulatory filings.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level financial or accounting role in a nonprofit environment.
• Experience with system migration (Salesforce and/or Business Central is a huge plus)
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required. Additional certifications such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA are preferred.
• Proven experience in managing accounting operations, cash flow, and monthly reporting.
• Proficiency in using financial software such as SAGE, Salesforce, and Navison.
• Experience in providing financial insights and guiding strategic decisions.
• Knowledge of financial regulations and standards, including experience in preparing and submitting 990 forms.
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with different stakeholders.
• A proactive approach, with the ability to anticipate potential financial issues and devise effective solutions.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all transactions.
• Managing cash flow and preparing monthly financial reports and statements.
• Utilizing SAGE, Salesforce, and Navison to streamline and automate financial processes.
• Providing financial insights to guide strategic decisions, helping the organization to achieve its financial goals.
• Developing and implementing financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency.
• Preparing and submitting 990 forms and other regulatory filings.
• Collaborating with other department heads to align financial management with overall business strategy.
