Job summary

The University YMCA in Champaign County seeks a mission-driven Community Worker to develop outreach programs for immigrant communities. This part-time role connects with French-speaking communities, collaborates with NAWC staff, and supports emerging leaders across local programs.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, French fluency, flexible schedule including some evenings/weekends, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Fluency in written and spoken French is required.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle access.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
• Experience using Adobe, Canva, Facebook, Salesforce, Slack and WhatsApp.
• Ability to organize events to disseminate information.

Responsibilities

• Provide limited-scope case management.
• Track client data accurately with attention to detail.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with underserved communities.
• Engage with community organizations and leaders in Champaign County.
• Identify barriers and promote access to resources and civic engagement.
• Contribute to outreach, education, and immigrant rights advocacy.
• Collaborate with NAWC staff to ensure continuity of service.
