Job summary

Worker’s Justice Project (WJP) in New York City is seeking a part-time Workers’ Rights Organizer to engage French-speaking immigrant delivery workers across NYC, mainly from our Williamsburg center. The role supports mobilization, education on rights, and leadership development within the LDU initiative.

The ideal candidate has strong organizing experience, bilingual French/English skills, and a commitment to immigrant workers' justice.

Responsibilities

Outreach and base building: Conduct weekly outreach to app delivery workers in NYC with focus on French-speaking immigrant workers.
Outreach and base building: Inform workers about workplace rights and WJP campaigns to improve conditions.
Outreach and base building: Build WJP’s base and recruit members through meetings and one-on-one engagements.
Outreach and base building: Motivate workers to take action, file complaints, and educate co-workers about rights.
Outreach and base building: Build delivery worker membership for LDU and connect to new communities.
Outreach and base building: Develop relationships with potential and current members.
Outreach and base building: Generate leads and follow up with individuals.
Outreach and base building: Support surveys and leadership trainings.
Outreach and base building: Assist with daily operations and case management.
Outreach and base building: Work across WJP locations as needed.
