Job summary

Praxis in New York City is seeking a Manager, Finance & Operations to drive the nonprofit’s backend finance and internal operations. You will own accounts payable/receivable, budgeting, onboarding, and HR systems, partnering with the Director to keep the engine running smoothly and reliably.

You’ll build processes, manage timelines in Asana and Notion, coordinate with our accounting firm, and enable teams across finance, operations, and people to execute with intention.

Qualifications

• Experience managing finance and internal operations for a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to own processes end-to-end.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to operate with high autonomy.

Responsibilities

• Own AP/AR processes, month-end close coordination with accounting firm, and expense coding.
• Lead annual budgeting, performance reviews, and onboarding logistics in Asana and Notion.
• Ensure compliance, maintain templates, and support HR and benefits analysis.
• Coordinate with CoS and CEO office; manage calendars and meeting logistics.
