Job summary

Louisiana Department of Health is seeking a dedicated Supervisor to lead the Economic Stability team in Tangipahoa Parish. The role oversees staff delivering essential benefits such as SNAP, FITAP, Kinship Care Assistance, and STEP, guiding performance and ensuring accurate benefit delivery.

The position requires substantial experience in economic stability social services, with a focus on policy interpretation, training, and program integrity.

Qualifications

• Six years of economic stability social services experience or three years with a bachelor's degree, etc.
• Experience with SNAP/FITAP/Kinship Care Assistance/STEP programs preferred.
• Ability to supervise staff and manage performance.
• Knowledge of program policies and eligibility procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supervises Social Service Analysts and an Economic Stability Specialist, including staff training, performance management, leave approval, conflict resolution, and oversight of unit operations.
• Leads the resolution of client and staff disputes by interviewing and investigating issues to ensure timely resolutions.
• Reviews cases and subordinate work for accuracy and timeliness in determining eligibility for SNAP, FITAP, Kinship Care, and STEP benefits.
• Ensures accurate data entry and case maintenance in LITES, including verification and documentation review.
• Provides policy guidance and training to staff and coordinates with regional specialists.
• Compiles and analyzes statistical and management reports and strengthens community partnerships to expand client services.
