Job summary

AbbVie in Irvine, CA is seeking a Scientist I in the Immunosafety & Immunogenicity group to support local and global portfolio. The role requires strong immunology expertise and cell-based assay development, with attention to detail and the ability to collaborate in a matrixed team.

You will design experiments, execute immunoassays, perform flow cytometry with FlowJo, and help translate findings into regulatory-ready data while adhering to AbbVie standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Immunology or related field with relevant experience.
• Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture and cell-based immunology assays.
• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
• Experience maintaining lab records and project documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute robust cell-based immunology assays.
• Perform immunoassays and multiplex analyses using Luminex and MSD.
• Design experiments, optimize assay performance, analyze data, and interpret results.
• Perform flow cytometry and analyze datasets with FlowJo.
• Create standardized templates and workflows to improve consistency and traceability.
• Prepare data summaries, reports, and presentations for teams and regulatory use.
• Author SOPs and transfer methods to external CROs as needed.
• Assist with training and apply literature to project needs.
