Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) - Technical Specialist - Immunology at Evanston Hospital. This full-time on-site role involves performing clinical microbiology tests, maintaining instrumentation, and ensuring accuracy of results across multiple lab areas.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree with CLIA qualifications and MT/MLS (ASCP) preferred; experienced candidates with leadership and strong communication skills are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree and the required courses to meet CLIA requirements for moderate to high complexity testing.
• Certification: MT or MLS (ASCP) preferred.
• Experience: internal candidate with 3 years incl. 1 year at Senior Lab Associate level; external candidates with 6+ years incl. supervisory/technical resource roles.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical microbiology tests in one or more sections to obtain data for diagnosis and treatment.
• Maintain and calibrate multiplex instrumentation systems to ensure accuracy and precision of results.
• Routinely resolve technical and interdepartmental problems across lab areas.
• Identify problems affecting performance or reporting and take corrective action or notify supervisors.
• Demonstrate ability to work cooperatively with others and maintain good communication and organization.
• Oversee laboratory operations including technical/regulatory duties, QC, maintenance, inventory, and staff competencies.
• Rotate through at least three areas of the Clinical Lab when performing procedures.
