Job summary

You will support litigation and administrative proceedings, manage confidential records, and communicate with medical and legal professionals to ensure timely, accurate service and adherence to deadlines.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor's Degree; or must have completed an approved Legal Assistant or Paralegal Studies Program.
• Must have two (2) years of paralegal experience.
• May have an equivalent combination of education and experience to substitute for the education requirements.
• Proficient with Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office software, and Legal Research Databases.
• Effective verbal and written communication with a diverse population of employees, outside counsel and medical/legal professionals.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive matters.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate case information and assist attorney in case preparation under supervision.
• Initiate responses to document requests from opposing attorneys and outside counsel; coordinate with departments and research discovery.
• Develop supplemental data, draft pleadings, discovery, affidavits, memoranda and letters to advance cases.
• Support litigation and administrative proceedings, including document collection and production; coordinate witnesses.
• Research case status and obtain court/agency documents from websites and portals.
• Maintain records of all legal filings and correspondence for organization.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable rules, deadlines, and guidelines; ensure adherence with requirements.
• Maintain positive relationships with management, hospitals, attorneys, and staff.
• Stay current with developments in the paralegal field; attend seminars and read journals.
• Identify ways to improve processes and customer satisfaction within Legal Affairs.
