Job summary

W3Global partners with an established Miami immigration law firm seeking an Experienced Immigration Attorney to own cases from start to finish. You will analyse complex histories, develop practical strategies, and handle a broad range of U.S.

immigration matters including family-based immigration, waivers, and naturalization. Fluency in English & Spanish is required; Portuguese and employment-based immigration experience are a plus.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

We have partnered with an established, high-volume immigration law firm in Miami that is actively seeking an Experienced Immigration Attorney to join its team. This is an opportunity for an attorney who wants to do more than process routine immigration filings. The firm is looking for someone who can think independently, analyse complicated immigration histories, identify viable forms of relief, develop practical legal strategies, and take ownership of cases from start to finish. The practice handles a broad range of U.S. immigration matters, including family-based immigration, removal defense and litigation, asylum and humanitarian relief, waivers, consular processing, naturalization, and other complex immigration matters.

Professional fluency in English & Spanish is required. Portuguese and employment-based immigration experience are a plus.

What You'll Be Doing

• Manage a diverse caseload involving family-based immigration, removal defense, asylum, humanitarian relief, waivers, naturalization, consular processing and other immigration matters.
• Analyse complicated immigration histories and identify available forms of relief, procedural options, alternative strategies and potential legal arguments.
• Develop case strategies based on the facts, applicable law, procedural posture, available evidence and the client's objectives.
• Conduct substantive legal research using LexisNexis, Westlaw, statutes, regulations, agency guidance, case law and other authoritative sources.
• Prepare and review petitions, applications, motions, briefs, memoranda, affidavits, waivers and other legal filings.
• Represent clients before Immigration Court, USCIS and other immigration agencies, as appropriate.
• Prepare for and advocate at hearings, interviews and other administrative or court proceedings.
• Identify potential weaknesses or complications early and develop strategies to address them.
• Work directly with clients to obtain evidence, understand their circumstances and explain available legal options, risks and potential outcomes.
• Work closely with paralegals and legal staff while maintaining responsibility for the legal strategy of assigned matters.
• Monitor developments in immigration law, agency policy, regulations and case precedent and apply them to active matters.
• Manage competing deadlines and maintain accurate case records in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

What We're Looking For

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active U.S. bar licence in good standing.
• Demonstrated experience practising U.S. immigration law.
• Strong substantive knowledge of immigration statutes, regulations, case law, agency procedures and court practice.
• Hands‑on removal defense and immigration litigation experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with asylum, humanitarian relief, family-based immigration, waivers and/or consular processing.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical and issue‑spotting skills.
• Demonstrated ability to develop creative but legally sound case strategies.
• Experience drafting motions, briefs, memoranda, affidavits, waivers and other persuasive legal filings.
• Strong courtroom, hearing and client‑advocacy skills. Ability to work independently and exercise sound legal judgment.
• Proven ability to manage a substantial caseload and competing deadlines.
• Experience with immigration case‑management systems is preferred.
• Professional fluency in English & Spanish - required. Portuguese and employment‑based immigration experience are additional advantages.

Compensation & Benefits

• $93,000 - $113,870.74 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
