Job summary

Fragomen invites you to join our Business Immigration Associate team, working with a diverse group of professionals in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

You will develop case strategies, communicate with clients, and supervise junior staff while expanding your practical understanding of U.S. immigration law. A U.S. JD or LLM and bar admission are required, with 2–3 years of Associate-level experience. Hybrid office in San Diego area.

Qualifications

• U.S. JD or LLM and bar admission to practice in the U.S.
• 2–3 years of Associate-level experience in immigration practice
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to proofread and draft fluent prose
• Strong client-service orientation and attention to detail
• Solid analytical, problem‑solving, and multi-tasking skills

Responsibilities

• Develop case strategies, including research, drafting, reviewing, counseling clients and initiating matters.
• Regularly communicate with clients and foreign nationals on procedural and strategy issues.
• Support clients with immigration program management and compliance.
• Assess eligibility for non-immigrant and immigrant visas for corporate employees.
• Prepare petitions and applications for submission to government agencies.
• Draft letters and legal documents using established precedents.
• Supervise junior Associates and staff, providing mentorship and immigration knowledge.
• Identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency and standardization.
