Fragomen is seeking a Business Immigration Associate to lead case work, research complex issues, and mentor junior staff in a dynamic, client-focused environment. The role requires a U.S. JD or LLM, bar admission, and 3–5 years of Associates experience in immigration law.

Qualifications

• U.S. JD or LLM is required.
• Member of a US State bar or Washington DC bar.
• 3-5 years of Associate-level experience.
• Exceptional working knowledge of immigration law.
• Prior team management experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop expert understanding of clients, industries, and Fragomen's services.
• Operate as a senior team member, oversee assignments with minimal supervision.
• Use legal precedents to address client situations and craft solutions.
• Research complex immigration issues and prepare documentation.
• Independently prepare, file cases, and strategize for complex matters.
• Explain complex issues to diverse audiences.
• Understand business strategy within the practice area and firm.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships with stakeholders and partners.
• Communicate with clients within SLAs in a precise, efficient manner.
• Supervise junior Associates and staff, mentoring and coaching as needed.
• Ensure team maintains firm protocols and data quality in systems like Connect.
• Meet productivity goals and identify cross-sell opportunities.
• Identify and implement process improvements for quality and efficiency.
• Participate in marketing and business development initiatives.
• Adhere to firm standards and regulatory requirements.
