Job Overview:
A well-established, mission-driven immigration law firm is seeking a Bilingual Associate Attorney to join its legal team. This fully remote role focuses on serving immigrant communities across the United States, particularly through humanitarian-based immigration cases such as VAWA, U-Visa, T-Visa, and SIJS. The ideal candidate is a fluent Spanish speaker with at least two years of experience in immigration law, a passion for advocacy, and a commitment to delivering high-quality legal services to underserved populations.
Location:
Duties:
- Manage a caseload of immigration matters, primarily VAWA, T-Visa, U-Visa, and SIJS cases
- Conduct client consultations and maintain communication throughout representation
- Draft and file petitions, affidavits, legal briefs, and other immigration filings
- Conduct legal research and prepare case strategies
- Collaborate with legal staff and intake team to evaluate new case opportunities
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of immigration policies and humanitarian relief updates
- Utilize legal technology and case management systems for efficient case tracking
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an immigration attorney handling humanitarian-based cases
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English (spoken and written)
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and within a remote, collaborative team structure
Education:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school
Certifications:
- Licensed to practice law in any U.S. state or jurisdiction
- New Jersey Bar membership is a plus but not required
Skills:
- Excellent legal research and writing abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Spanish and English
- Familiarity with immigration case management software and productivity platforms (e.g., Google Workspace, Slack, Monday.com, Excel)
