Job description

A respected law firm with a national presence is seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney with a strong background in immigration law. This full-time, remote position offers flexibility while requiring travel to attend hearings, interviews, and client meetings across the United States. The ideal candidate will possess at least three years of hands-on experience in removal defense and family-based immigration matters, along with exceptional legal writing and case management skills.

Duties

1. Handle removal defense and deportation cases, including bond, master, and individual hearings.
2. Prepare and file Adjustment of Status and other family-based applications and petitions.
3. Draft legal memoranda, affidavits, and other supporting documentation for cases involving hardship waivers, asylum, and affidavits of support.
4. Communicate effectively with EOIR, USCIS, DOS, and clients.
5. Respond to RFE’s, NOID’s, and handle appeals before the AAO and BIA.
6. Attend interviews, client consultations, and firm management meetings as required.

Requirements

1. Minimum 3+ years of experience in immigration law.
2. Extensive experience in removal defense, including litigation and court appearances.
3. Strong background in family-based immigration petitions and related filings.
4. Ability to travel regularly across states to attend legal proceedings and meetings.
5. Excellent legal drafting and verbal communication skills.

Education

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

1. Active license to practice law in any U.S. jurisdiction.
2. Good standing with state bar.
