Job description

Description of Position

The Hernandez Global Associate Attorney position requires 1-2 years of experience in the immigration field. The attorney in this role must be bilingual (English-Spanish) and licensed to practice law in at least one state. With oversight and training from a senior attorney, as well as support from a team of paralegals, this role will manage the firm’s EOIR Immigration Court caseload from start to finish. Responsibilities will include:

1. Preparing written pleadings, relevant motions, prosecutorial discretion requests, and applications for relief;
2. Facilitating document collection;
3. Reviewing all EOIR filings prior to submission;
4. Preparing clients for hearings;
5. Appearing at hearings;
6. Keeping staff up-to-date on EOIR procedures.

Additionally, this position will manage a portion of the firm’s USCIS caseload, mainly applications to adjust status and naturalization that require interviews. The attorney will be exposed to various aspects of immigration law, gaining diverse case experience. This role involves significant responsibility but is supported by multiple office components.

Minimum Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in the immigration field.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English).
• Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. state.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team of paralegals and supporting staff.
• Ability to manage a high volume of cases.
• Desire to learn immigration law and grow as an immigration lawyer.
