Job summary

RTD is seeking an instructional designer to create immersive learning experiences for commuter and light-rail operations and maintenance. You will develop simulation content using rail simulators, VR, and AV recording systems, work with SMEs to define objectives, and build assessments to measure learner readiness.

You will lead needs assessments, design full curricula, and collaborate with operations, safety, and regulatory partners to ensure training aligns with standards and regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Organizational Development, Education, Instructional Design, Workforce Development, or related field.
• 2+ years in training, instructional design, curriculum development, or simulation-based learning, preferably in rail operations or maintenance.
• Experience designing and delivering technical training, including simulation-based formats.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement immersive, technology-based learning experiences for rail operations and maintenance training (simulator, VR, AV, eLearning, blended).
• Collaborate with SMEs to identify objectives, performance expectations, and required knowledge for safe rail service.
• Develop and manage full simulation courses, curricula, scenarios, materials, and assessments.
