Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 2+ years of classroom teaching experience in urban setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follows the lesson plan left by the absent teacher.
• Assumes any duty that the absent teacher would have for that day or long term assignment.
• Maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning.
• Applies all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, materials and equipment.
• Maintains as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the classroom to which he/she is assigned.
• Plans needed activities when lesson plans do not structure the entire class periods with planned learning activities.
• Commit to increasing the positive climate between and amongst peers.
• Morning Duty: Includes active supervision of hallways and classrooms.
• Afternoon Duty: Includes active supervision of the dismissal process.
• Additional duties may be assigned without additional compensation or stipend
