Job summary

Baylor University Medical Center is expanding with an Intermediate care unit. You will care for acutely ill patients alongside intensivists and a multidisciplinary team in a night shift setting (FT, 7:00pm–7:00am).

As a Registered Nurse, you will assess patients, develop care plans, educate families, and collaborate with care team to ensure safety, quality, and outcomes. Texas nursing standards apply; career growth is emphasized.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited Program.
• Specialized field of study should be nursing.
• RN license.
• Must have BLS certification or get it within 30 days of starting in this role.
• 1 year min recent IMCU/PCU (level I or II trauma) hospital RN experience

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed clinical assessments and create care plans.
• Educate patients and families; document learning needs.
• Delegate tasks safely within the team and monitor outcomes.
• Ensure safety and quality by prioritizing patient needs and applying standards.
• Collaborate with intensivists and APNs in care planning.
• Support discharge planning and care coordination.
