Job summary

White Oak Medical Center in Silver Spring, MD seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for our IMCU who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing. As an RN you will educate patients and families, serve as a role model to Level I nurses, and apply best practices using electronic resources.

You will develop a plan of care and monitor changes in patient condition, mentoring peers as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Passing score on NCLEX.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience.
• Current Maryland State nursing license.
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by specialty area.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and families through the continuum of care while seeking to advance their knowledge and skills.
• Serve as role models to Level I nurses and use electronic resources to support best practices in patient care.
• Demonstrate professionalism and adhere to ANA standards of practice while upholding Adventist HealthCare values.
• Use equipment and technology correctly, delegate non-nursing duties appropriately, and maximize efficiency.
• Develop a plan of care according to patient population.
• Identify impending changes in patient condition and initiate corrective action.
• Mentor students, colleagues and team members in patient-centered care.
• Conduct purposeful rounds from patient and family perspective.
• Perform literature searches and apply findings to practice.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in clinical care and participate in evidence-based changes.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

NCLEX Pass

Maryland RN License

BLS Certification

ACLS/PALS/NRP as required by specialty
