Job summary

Bay Area Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) to operate within the RN scope, coordinating care with the interdisciplinary team. The role requires teaching patients and families, documenting care, and collaborating with physicians.

Responsibilities include cardiac rhythm analysis, telemetry, assessments, and medication administration, with emphasis on safety and high-quality patient outcomes in a night-shift setting.

Qualifications

• RN license requirements for Oregon; BLS required; ACLS must be obtained within six months if not current.

Responsibilities

• Identify and interpret cardiac rhythm strips; manage cardiac monitoring and defibrillator functions.
• Proficient in telemetry system use.
• Assess patients including physical, psychosocial, and discharge planning aspects.
• Develop nursing diagnoses with interdisciplinary team.
• Plan and update care according to diagnoses.
• Assist with activities of daily living and falls risk management.
• Administer medications and monitor responses.
• Provide patient and family teaching on illness, tests, meds, and wellness.
