Job summary

Bay Area Hospital in Oregon is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) on the night shift. You will apply the nursing process, teach patients and families, document in the EMR, and coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team.

You will identify and interpret cardiac rhythms, monitor telemetry, administer medications, and provide patient education while supervising support staff. Oregon RN licensure and BLS/ACLS are required or to be obtained within stated timelines.

Qualifications

• RN license required (Oregon)
• Current BLS certification
• ACLS within 6 months of hire
• Recent acute care hospital experience preferred
• Night shift availability required

Responsibilities

• Identify and interpret cardiac rhythm strips; manage telemetry monitoring and defibrillator functions
• Assess patients comprehensively (physical, psychosocial, education needs) and plan care
• Implement individualized nursing care per plan and supervise unlicensed staff
• Administer medications and monitor for adverse effects
• Educate patients and families about illness, tests, medications and prevention
• Document assessments, interventions and teaching in EMR and/or paper records
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to coordinate overall patient care
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies and Code of Conduct
