Job summary

Boston Medical Center seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Critical Care/IMCU team in the IMCU unit. The role involves delivering comprehensive nursing care 36 hours per week on nights with rotating weekends, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality patient outcomes.

The position requires MA RN licensure, BLS, ACLS in certain units, and a BSN/ASN/ Diploma with potential for BSN advancement.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• 1+ years of RN experience preferred
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required in certain units
• Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), ability to obtain BSN within 4 years
• Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty, certification required for certain practice areas
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Physical ability to meet job responsibilities
• Basic computer proficiency
• Fluency in another language a plus

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in the Critical Care unit, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients
• Communicate with health care team members, patients, and families
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues
• Update and manage patient records
• Enter and interpret computerized data/information
• Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization
• Assist leadership in quality improvement projects
