Job summary

Boulder County is seeking an Imaging & Content Management Technician in Boulder, CO to process high-volume documents supporting Housing & Human Services programs. The role ensures case files are complete, compliant, and accessible for eligibility, auditing, and operations.

Work hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm in-office with occasional Longmont duties. Non-exempt, full-time position with strong benefits including vacation accruals and PSLF eligibility.

  • Notary certification or ability to obtain shortly after hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional, courteous service to internal staff and external partners.
  • Receive, prepare, scan, index, validate, and quality-check documents across formats.
  • Meet daily imaging production of 800–1,000 pages with high accuracy.
  • Complete detailed data entry across numerous document types and indexing categories.
  • Identify and correct imaging errors through quality control processes.
  • Troubleshoot scanners, imaging equipment, computers, and software.
  • Research and verify information to properly categorize documents.
  • Maintain audit-ready digital files meeting federal, state, and HHS standards.
  • Support notary needs as required.
  • Collaborate with team to refine procedures, improve workflow, and resolve issues.
  • Work independently for long periods with consistent accuracy and productivity.
  • Perform related work; may be reassigned during emergencies.

Job description

Boulder county Human Services Department is seeking to hire an Imaging & Content Management Technician. The Imaging & Content Management Technician is responsible for the accurate, timely, and high-volume processing of critical documents that support all Boulder County Housing & Human Services programs. This role ensures that case files are complete, compliant, and readily accessible for eligibility, auditing, and program operations.

This position requires strong technical aptitude, the ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure, independent decision-making, and comfort with repetitive, detail-heavy tasks. The ideal candidate thrives in a structured, fast-paced environment and consistently meets daily production expectations.

This is a full time, benefited position that will work Monday Through Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm in office in Boulder, CO with occasional Longmont, CO office duties. Under Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines this position is non-exempt.

Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.

Hiring Salary Range: $52,488.00 - $57,736.00 annually

Tentative Hiring Timeline:
  • Phone Screening: Week of September 14th
  • First Round Interviews: Week of September 21th
  • Second Round Interviews: Week of September 28th
  • Reference Check: Week of September 28th

New employees receive an 80-hour bank of vacation at the time of hire, in addition to 8 hours of both vacation and medical leave accruals each month (Must not have been employed at Boulder County during the 12 months prior to re-hire date to qualify). Education & Experience

Boulder County is looking for well qualified candidates to fill our positions. Any combination of relevant education and experience is encouraged. In this position, we are looking for a minimum of

  • A high school diploma
  • Four years of office experience

  • Weekly Throughput: 4,000–5,000 pages.
  • Accuracy: 95–99% indexing accuracy; low rescan/error rate.
  • Turnaround: Documents must be processed within 24–72 hours depending on priority.
  • Environment: High-volume, fast-paced, compliance-driven, often repetitive, with strict deadlines.
  • Ensures timely eligibility decisions for essential public services such as Medicaid, SNAP, TANF, CCAP, Housing, and Child Welfare.
  • Reduces compliance and audit risk across all HHS programs.
  • Supports consistent, accurate, accessible digital records for staff, clients, and oversight agencies.
  • Enhances efficiency across multiple divisions by maintaining standardized document workflows
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Prior imaging, document management, or compliance-focused work.
  • Experience in high-volume operational environments.
  • Technical comfort with multi-system workflows and document indexing.
  • Notary certification (or ability to obtain shortly after hire).
