Job summary

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Current AHA or equivalent healthcare provider BLS Certification required.
• General clerical experience in a medical office setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule physician, patient, and insurance requests for diagnostic studies.
• Obtain billing documentation and authorizations for modalities.
• Explain registrations and HIPAA forms to patients and obtain signatures.
• Gathers/validates the required pre-registration/registration data set and screens safety concerns.
• Distribute daily paper flow to the appropriate department(s).
• Verify eligibility and benefits for payers including Medicare/Medi-Cal.
• Educate patients on payer benefits and collect deposits and copays.
• Notify payors/patients of appointment changes.
• Prepare subpoenas and medical record requests.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and PHI disclosures.
