Job summary

UNC Medical Center Imaging Support Svcs Hedrick in Chapel Hill is seeking a dedicated Imaging Scheduling Coordinator to manage inbound calls for scheduling, cancellations, and rescheduling of imaging appointments. You will review orders, coordinate with clinics, and ensure accuracy in Epic records.

The role requires strong customer service and organizational skills, plus healthcare exposure. This position is full-time with hybrid work and day hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; one year related experience or training.
• Healthcare setting experience preferred, with patient registration/scheduling or insurance authorization exposure.
• Strong customer service and organizational skills; some medical terminology is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Receive inbound calls to schedule/cancel/reschedule imaging appointments.
• Review imaging orders for scheduling information and accuracy.
• Communicate with providers when order changes are needed.
• Scan referrals/orders into the patient’s Epic record.
• Review insurance authorization for services and adjust scheduling as needed.
• Provide imaging exam prep information when scheduling appointments.
• Prepare paperwork for scheduled imaging procedures.
• May train others and respond to customer inquiries by phone.
• Represent UNC Health with internal and external customers.
