Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma; Medical Office/clinic exposure preferred.
• Understand Medical Terminology and experience in a medical setting; 6–12 months related experience.
• Excellent communication, computer, and organizational skills; confidentiality and multitasking ability.

Responsibilities

• Greets and communicates with patients or other individuals in a professional manner.
• Schedules patients in a timely manner, providing preparation instructions and answering questions.
• Uses computer systems including CPSI and Word; understands Enterprise Wide Scheduling System.
• Ensures imaging orders are complete for medical necessity and prior approvals.
• Understands insurance pre-certifications and medical necessity requirements.
• Distributes reports to appropriate departments and mails to outside physicians/facilities.
• Answers department phone with professional etiquette; communicates with physicians, radiologists, and technologists.
• Maintains HIPAA-compliant release forms and film releases; maintains release system.
• Prepares daily physician log; provides copies of reports; tracks who reads films; handles billing inquiries.
