Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of medical experience, preferably in a hospital-based Imaging department.
• Excellent command of verbal and written English, with strong communication skills.
• Ability to interact with healthcare team and patients with courtesy and professionalism.
• Detail oriented and able to multitask, prioritize, and work independently.
• Proficient with technology and office equipment used in scheduling.
• Experience with EMR systems such as Meditech or Cerner is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor fax queue and schedule examinations with provider offices and patients.
• Collaborate with Imaging technologists to ensure proper scheduling of exams.
• Coordinate multiple exam requests to ensure timely performance.
• Follow up on work in progress and handle additional tasks as assigned.
• Process scheduling requests using the EMR and scheduling pool.
• Inform referring providers of issues and obtain necessary preauthorizations and documentation.
• Contact patients to communicate appointment details and required preparations.
• Notify providers' offices with appointment information and assist with bookings.
