Job summary

MaineGeneral Health is seeking an Imaging RN Supervisor to lead nursing operations across Interventional Radiology, Cardiac Cath Lab, Vascular Access, Breast Care, and Infusion Clinic. This role combines clinical expertise with leadership to ensure patient care, safety, and operational efficiency.

The supervisor will oversee staff, coordinate patient care, optimize workflows, and participate in quality improvement and emergency preparedness in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Active Maine RN licensure or ability to obtain in a timely fashion is required.
• Experience in Imaging Nursing is preferred.
• 3-5 years in a leadership role within interventional radiology, cardiac cath lab, or a related specialty is preferred.
• Prior experience with conscious sedation, helpful BLS and ACLS preferred upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership, coaching, and mentoring to staff.
• Responds to staff requests for assistance with providing or managing direct patient care in complex or difficult matters.
• Determines, coordinates, and monitors the flow of patients between units to maximize the use of the organization's resources and meet service level objectives.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of patient care and identifies any issues that affect desired patient outcomes.
• Coordinates patient care services with staff, physicians, and other departments.
• Responds to complaints/conflicts and manages them through established channels.
• Makes administrative decisions in the absence of the Department Manager/Director.
