Job summary

Riverside Diagnostic and Breast Imaging Center - Oyster Point in Newport News, VA is seeking a part-time Referral Coordinator for the Imaging Labor Pool. The role schedules patient imaging appointments, coordinates referrals, verifies insurance, and updates charts to ensure accurate records before service date.

The candidate will work under the Registration Manager, coordinating across departments, handling patient calls, and supporting time-of-service collections.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associates Degree preferred.
• 3-4 years business office experience preferred.
• 1 year scheduling experience in Imaging/Registration preferred.
• Certification CHAA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments within Imaging Services and coordinating tests across facilities.
• Handle pre-registration and insurance verification per policy.
• Manage patient communications and test referrals in a timely manner.
• Assist with department time-of-service collections and patient balance communication.
• Update patient charts with referral information and relevant records.
