Job summary

You will coordinate with external facilities and providers, update patient records, and communicate about authorizations and financial counseling.

Qualifications

• Two years of healthcare experience required.
• Strong organizational and customer service skills required.
• Background in computers and data entry emphasized.
• Knowledge of scheduling and billing methods and policies.

Responsibilities

• Refer patients to external facilities based on insurance and preferences.
• Update demographics and insurance eligibility and coordinate benefits.
• Process orders and outside referrals; schedule appointments; import documents to the chart.
• Communicate with patients about authorization, financial counseling and scheduling.
• Respond to questions/complaints and maintain high patient satisfaction.
• Provide HIPAA-compliant handling of health records and confidentiality.
• Update patient information in the EMR and practice management system.
• Cancel and communicate changes to related appointments.
