Job summary

Intelas, a Compass Healthcare company and member of Compass Group USA, seeks a Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on imaging systems nationwide. The role requires collaboration with manufacturers, on-call responsibilities, and a focus on patient care through equipment reliability.

Ideal candidates hold an Associate degree in Electronics/Imaging Technology and have 2+ years of imaging equipment repair experience.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Electronics/Imaging Technology or Biomedical Equipment Technology.
• Minimum two years experience with imaging equipment manufacturers.
• Minimum two years experience in repair of radiology equipment or biomedical equipment.
• Specialized knowledge in modalities such as radiology, MRI, ultrasound, CT, etc.
• Certifications in modalities (e.g., CRES) preferred.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Willingness to serve on-call duties.
• Able to be a technical resource to others.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventive maintenance, calibrations where certification is required, and electrical safety inspections on imaging equipment in compliance with standards.
• Perform major repairs by replacing defective components and readjust components to manufacturer specifications.
• Assist with diagnostic imaging cross training of BMET Technicians.
• Confers with manufacturers and equipment operators to resolve equipment problems.
• Provide emergency on-call responsibilities.
• Research and initiate orders for repair parts within budget parameters.
• Document asset actions for QA records and compliance.
• Must be capable of performing all duties of a BMET III.
