Job summary

VCU Health is seeking a student worker to assist in high-quality radiographic, sonographic, or nuclear medicine exams under direct supervision of a licensed technologist. The role supports patient care, emotional needs, and workflow within the imaging department.

The position requires enrollment in an accredited Radiation Sciences, Sonography, or Nuclear Medicine program, CPR-BLS certification for continued employment, and eligibility for shift rotations including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in accredited School of Radiation Sciences, Sonography, or Nuclear Medicine Program.
• Previous clinical work experience in an acute care/trauma setting.
• One year of clinical experience in accredited School of Radiation Sciences, Sonography, or Nuclear Medicine Program.in an academic

Responsibilities

• Functions under the direct, personal supervision of a registered radiologic technologist, sonographer, or nuclear medicine technologist in providing patient care, emotional support, and problem solving; all in accordance with hospital and radiology policy/procedure.
• Initiates request for patient transportation.
• Directs patients to imaging rooms.
• Stocks and/or obtains supplies as directed.
