Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Health is seeking a Radiology Student Worker to assist in high quality radiographic, sonographic, or nuclear medicine exams in Richmond, VA. Work performed under direct supervision of a registered radiologic technologist or equivalent, with flexible shifts including evenings and weekends.

The role requires enrollment in an accredited School of Radiation Sciences and CPR-BLS certification; prior trauma/acute care experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Current student in an accredited School of Radiation Sciences.
• CPR-BLS certification as required for hire.
• Previous clinical work experience in an acute care/trauma setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the performance of high quality radiographic, sonographic, or nuclear medicine exams under direct supervision.
• Initiates request for patient transportation and directs patients to imaging rooms.
• Stocks and/or obtains supplies as directed; works under supervisor guidance for schedule changes and special care needs.
• Provide patient care, emotional support, and problem solving in accordance with hospital policy.
