Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems is seeking a student imaging assistant who will work under the direct supervision of a registered radiologic technologist, sonographer, or nuclear medicine technologist to assist in high quality radiographic, sonographic, or nuclear medicine exams.

The position requires enrollment in an accredited program, CPR-BLS certification for hire, and willingness to work variable shifts including evenings and weekends in an acute care setting.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in accredited School of Radiation Sciences, Sonography, or Nuclear Medicine Program.
• CPR-BLS certification required for hire.
• Currently pursuing a program with expected completion.

Responsibilities

• Functions under supervision in providing patient care, emotional support, and problem solving.
• Initiates request for patient transportation.
• Directs patients to imaging rooms.
• Stocks and/or obtains supplies.
