Job summary

Atrium Health Navicent Health is seeking an Imaging Patient Assistant for Navicent Health Medical Center - Radiology. You will support exam preparation, transport patients, and assist technologists during X-ray procedures in a fast-paced imaging department.

Ideal candidates are currently enrolled in a ARRT/ARDMS-accredited Radiologic Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography program, with a high school diploma or GED, and BLS certification on hire.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an ARRT/ARDMS-accredited Radiologic Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
• High school diploma or GED/HSED required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification on hire.
• No prior professional radiology experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients in exam preparation and provides basic instructions.
• Transports patients between exam rooms and escorts families as needed.
• Uses radiology computer systems to generate requisitions, check schedules, and obtain patient data.
• Organizes exam rooms, stocks supplies, and maintains equipment.
• Greets patients, answers routine questions, and schedules appointments.
• Liaises between ordering physician, radiologist, and technologist.
• Provides radiology images/reports to staff and patients upon request.
• Files and releases health information records and films.
• Documents information and communicates patient observations to the care team.
• Performs routine maintenance and safety checks on imaging equipment.
