Job summary

NorthBay Health is seeking an Imaging Support Specialist to manage billing documentation, authorizations, and patient demographics for imaging exams. You will interview patients, verify insurance, and schedule multiple modalities while ensuring HIPAA compliance and high-quality customer service.

The role also involves handling subpoenas/records requests, co-pays, and daily scheduling tasks. A background in medical office clerical work and knowledge of payer requirements is preferred.

Qualifications

• Exquisite customer service skills and payer knowledge.
• Advanced medical terminology required; familiarity with HIPAA.
• Typing speed 35 wpm; strong data entry and math skills.

Responsibilities

• Obtain billing documentation and authorizations for all imaging exams.
• Interview patients or representatives to collect accurate demographics and insurance information.
• Verify and document eligibility and benefits for payors.
• Schedule exams for multiple diagnostic modalities.
• Organize and distribute paper flow among facility staff.
• Input patient demographics into facility information system.
• Answer and route calls on multi-line switchboard.
• Input updates to daily/weekly schedule and patient records.
• Process subpoenas and medical records requests.
• Collect patient co-pays and account payments.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and privacy protections.
