IFS ERP Business Analyst

The Opportunity
Adastra Resource Group is working with an established IFS client to recruit an IFS ERP Business Analyst to help strengthen its internal IFS support capabilities.
This is a hands-on role combining functional business analysis, application support, troubleshooting, configuration and continuous improvement. You'll work directly with business users to resolve day-to-day issues, investigate more complex system problems and help improve the overall performance and reliability of the IFS environment.
Key Responsibilities
Application Support and Troubleshooting
- Own IFS incidents and service requests from initial investigation through resolution and user confirmation.
- Prioritize requests based on business impact, urgency and operational risk.
- Provide day-to-day support for functional questions, transactions, user access, security and business processes.
- Investigate configuration, data, permissions, background jobs and application issues.
- Reproduce issues in test environments, trace transactions and perform root-cause analysis.
- Identify practical solutions, corrective actions and opportunities to prevent recurring issues.
- Coordinate escalations with technical teams, IFS Support and external partners.
Functional Analysis and Business Improvement
- Work with business stakeholders to understand operational challenges and identify practical IFS solutions.
- Support processes across Finance, Projects, Supply Chain, Procurement, Field Service Management and HR.
- Assist with functional configuration, testing, validation and approved system changes.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, data quality, processes and the user experience.
- Participate in business process reviews, user acceptance testing (UAT), training and change management.
- Develop broader functional ownership across the IFS platform over time.
Systems Administration and IFS Cloud Lifecycle
- Support user access requests, permission sets, role validation and periodic access reviews.
- Assist with application stability, configuration changes and system enhancements.
- Support IFS Cloud updates, security patches, releases, upgrades and approved customizations (CRIMs).
- Participate in impact assessments, regression testing, defect tracking and post-deployment validation.
- Support assigned backlog items through documentation, testing and implementation.
- Collaborate with technical teams to investigate integration, data and application issues.
Reporting, Documentation and Collaboration
- Support IFS reporting capabilities, including Quick Reports, Lobbies and source-dat validation.
- Work with reporting and data teams to validate business rules, transactions and reporting requirements.
- Maintain accurate incident records, service requests, testing results and backlog documentation.
- Create and maintain SOPs, knowledge-base articles, user guides and configuration documentation.
- Use ticketing and work management systems to track issues, priorities and resolutions.
- Build strong relationships across business functions and IT, keeping users informed throughout the support process.
Required Experience
- Hands-on experience with IFS ERP, ideally IFS Cloud.
- Experience supporting business users in an ERP environment through functional support, business analysis, implementation or process improvement.
- Working knowledge of at least one relevant functional area, such as Finance, Projects, Supply Chain, Procurement, Field Service Management or HR.
- Experience troubleshooting business process, configuration, data, security or application issues.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate issues and identify practical solutions.
- Experience with ticketing, incident management or backlog tracking systems.
- Strong communication, documentation and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work independently, collaborate across teams and take ownership of issues through resolution.
Additional Experience That Would Be Beneficial
- Experience with both IFS Applications and IFS Cloud.
- Functional configuration, security administration and user access management.
- SQL, data validation, integrations and background jobs.
- IFS Quick Reports, Lobbies, Information Sources or Page Designer.
- UAT, regression testing, upgrades, release management and change management.
- Jira or similar ticketing and backlog management tools.
- Experience in construction, field service, manufacturing or project-driven environments.
- Familiarity with Power BI from a business requirements or source-dat validation perspective.
- A relevant degree or equivalent practical experience.
