The Opportunity
Adastra Resource Group is working with an established IFS client to recruit an experienced Senior IFS Cloud Developer to support the continued implementation, development, and optimization of its enterprise ERP environment.
This is a hands-on technical role combining IFS Cloud development, customizations, integrations, reporting, solution architecture, and production support. You'll serve as a key internal technical resource, working closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and external partners to develop scalable solutions that support daily operations and long-term growth.
The organization is progressing through a phased IFS Cloud implementation, with core business processes already live and additional functionality being deployed. The immediate focus will be on Manufacturing/Production capabilities and integrations, alongside continued support and enhancement of Procure-to-Pay (P2P) and Order-to-Cash (O2C) processes.
Key Responsibilities
IFS Cloud Development and Customization
- Design, develop, test, and deploy IFS Cloud customizations, extensions, and enhancements.
- Support Manufacturing, Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Order-to-Cash business processes.
- Own development activities from requirements gathering and technical design through testing, documentation, and deployment.
- Develop using IFS Custom Events, Custom Fields, Page Designer, and IFS Developer Studio.
- Build and maintain web client customizations, projections, and client extensions.
- Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and compatible with future IFS Cloud upgrades.
Reporting, Analytics and Data Management
- Develop and maintain IFS queries, Lobbies, IALs, and operational reports.
- Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL and PL/SQL queries.
- Develop and maintain Oracle packages, procedures, triggers, and other database objects.Investigate performance issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective solutions.
- Collaborate with reporting and BI teams to validate IFS data and support data warehouse integrations.
Integrations and Automation
- Develop and support integrations between IFS Cloud and third-party business applications.
- Work with IFS APIs, projections, REST/OData services, and related integration technologies.
- Develop Python scripts and automation tools to streamline operational processes, deployments, and data movement.
- Support Azure-based integrations in collaboration with IT teams.
- Coordinate integration testing, troubleshooting, and deployment activities with internal and external technical resources.
Solution Architecture and Development Standards
- Design technical solutions that align with business requirements and long-term ERP architecture.
- Evaluate configuration versus customization approaches to maintain platform stability and upgradeability.
- Establish and maintain development standards for version control, environments, deployment, and documentation.
- Identify technical debt and recommend refactoring, optimization, and performance improvements.
- Ensure custom development and integrations follow established security and application standards.
Business Analysis and Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work with business analysts and stakeholders to gather and document functional and technical requirements.
- Translate business needs into technical specifications and practical IFS Cloud solutions.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Finance, Supply Chain, Warehouse, and Operations teams.
- Support functional testing, integration testing, UAT, and deployment readiness.
- Communicate technical recommendations, project timelines, risks, and constraints to business and IT stakeholders.
- Provide ongoing production support, troubleshooting, and break-fix resolution.
Implementation Support and Continuous Improvement
- Support the phased rollout of IFS Cloud, with an immediate focus on Manufacturing/Production functionality.
- Maintain and enhance existing Procure-to-Pay and Order-to-Cash capabilities.
- Participate in implementation testing, cutover planning, deployment, and post-go-live stabilization.
- Work with implementation partners and internal teams to resolve technical issues and improve system performance.
- Identify opportunities to automate processes, improve reliability, and simplify ongoing ERP maintenance.
Required Experience
- 10+ years of software development experience, including significant experience supporting enterprise ERP environments.
- Strong, hands-on IFS Cloud development experience in a production environment.
- Expertise with IFS Custom Events, Custom Fields, Page Designer, and IFS Developer Studio.
- Advanced Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development, including packages, procedures, triggers, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
- Experience developing IFS web client customizations, projections, and client extensions.
- Experience creating and maintaining IAL queries, Lobbies, and IFS operational reports.
- Working knowledge of IFS APIs, REST/OData, and projection-based integrations.
- Experience using Python for automation, scripting, and technical tooling.
- Ability to gather requirements and translate business processes into scalable technical solutions.
- Understanding of Manufacturing, Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, and related ERP processes.
- Experience supporting functional testing, integration testing, UAT, and production deployments.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Must be able to work onsite in the American Canyon, CA area four days per week.
Additional Experience That Would Be Beneficial
- IFS technical or application certifications.
- Previous experience with IFS Applications 9/10 or earlier versions.
- IFS implementation, upgrade, migration, or phased deployment experience.
- Azure technologies, including Logic Apps, Data Factory, Functions, or Azure SQL.
- Oracle database certifications or advanced database administration knowledge.
- Experience with EDI, API gateways, middleware, and integration platforms.
- Experience working with external IFS implementation partners or system integrators.
- Background in manufacturing, consumer packaged goods, food production, or similar operational environments.
- Experience supporting Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, and Manufacturing/Production workflows.
- Familiarity with AI/ML tools for operational automation or analytics.
