IFS Cloud Systems Manager / Solution Architect

The Opportunity
Adastra Resource Group is working with an established IFS client to recruit an experienced IFS Cloud Systems Manager / Solution Architect to take ownership of a mission‑critical ERP environment.
This is a hands‑on leadership position combining IFS Cloud architecture, systems management, functional consulting, product ownership, and strategic planning. You'll serve as the organization's primary IFS subject matter expert, working closely with business and IT leadership to drive system improvements, manage upgrades, strengthen internal support capabilities, and develop a long‑term ERP roadmap.
The ideal candidate brings deep IFS Cloud experience, strong functional knowledge across Finance, Projects, Field Service Management (FSM), and HR, and the ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
IFS Cloud Architecture and Systems Ownership
- Serve as the primary IFS Cloud subject matter expert, solution architect, and internal consultant.
- Own the full IFS Cloud lifecycle, including upgrades, configuration, enhancements, testing, deployment, hypercare, and ongoing optimization.
- Translate business requirements into scalable solutions across Finance, Projects, FSM, and HR.
- Evaluate customizations, configurations, integrations, and enhancements to ensure long‑term platform stability and supportability.
- Lead annual IFS Cloud upgrade planning and execution, including upcoming release upgrades, regression testing, cutover planning, and post‑deployment support.
- Establish consistent governance, documentation, and change management practices.
ERP Roadmap and Continuous Improvement
- Own and manage the IFS product roadmap, prioritizing system enhancements, operational improvements, and new capabilities.
- Manage ERP backlogs, incidents, and development initiatives using Jira.
- Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, acceptance criteria development, and issue resolution.
- Identify and resolve outstanding implementation issues, recurring problems, and inefficient business processes.
- Partner with Finance, Operations, HR, and IT leadership to align ERP initiatives with business priorities.
- Participate in project governance, steering committee discussions, and vendor performance reviews.
Integrations, Reporting and Technical Delivery
- Oversee integrations between IFS Cloud and third‑party business systems.
- Support and govern iPaaS integrations, preferably using Boomi.
- Lead the development and improvement of Power BI reporting and dashboards connected to IFS data.
- Evaluate opportunities to transition existing IFS Lobbies and manual reporting processes to more scalable reporting solutions.
- Collaborate with data and analytics teams to ensure accurate data sources, reporting logic, and integration performance.
- Work with technical resources and external partners to troubleshoot complex application and integration issues.
Team Leadership and Vendor Management
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to internal IFS support resources.
- Develop SOPs, troubleshooting procedures, escalation paths, and support documentation.
- Strengthen internal Tier 1 and Tier 2 support capabilities while reducing reliance on external consultants.
- Manage relationships with IFS Professional Services, implementation partners, and advisory consultants.
- Ensure effective knowledge transfer, issue resolution, and accountability across external engagements.
- Communicate system priorities, project progress, technical risks, and recommendations to business and IT leadership.
Required Experience
- 7+ years of hands‑on IFS ERP experience, including significant experience with IFS Cloud.
- Strong functional knowledge across Finance, HR, Field Service Management (FSM), and Projects.
- Experience serving as an IFS Solution Architect, Systems Manager, Technical/Functional Lead, or senior IFS subject matter expert.
- Strong understanding of the IFS Cloud lifecycle, including configuration, customizations, upgrades, testing, and deployment.
- Experience leading or supporting annual IFS Cloud version upgrades, regression testing, change management, and cutover planning.
- Experience managing ERP roadmaps, enhancements, backlogs, and incident resolution using Jira.
- Hands‑on experience with Power BI, including dashboard development and IFS data connectivity.
- Familiarity with iPaaS integrations and middleware technologies.
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into practical, scalable IFS solutions.
- Experience working with IFS Professional Services, implementation partners, and external consultants.
- Strong stakeholder communication, technical problem‑solving, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of complex initiatives, and operate effectively in a fast‑paced business environment.
Additional Experience That Would Be Beneficial
- Experience with Boomi integrations.
- Advanced IFS Cloud configuration, CRIMs, and technical architecture.
- Experience supporting IFS implementations, post‑go‑live stabilization, and optimization initiatives.
- Power BI reporting strategy, IFS Lobbies, and data pipeline integration.
- Experience building or improving internal ERP support teams and processes.
- Vendor management, SLA monitoring, and external consulting oversight.
- Experience supporting field service, construction, manufacturing, or project‑driven organizations.
- Experience managing multi‑year ERP roadmaps and cross‑functional transformation initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
